The Opportunity
An award-winning, nationally recognised consultancy — holders of multiple industry accolades and accredited for excellence in workplace wellbeing — is looking for a Senior Building Physics Consultant to join their team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to take technical ownership of high-performance building projects from early design through to delivery.
The Role
Based primarily in Leeds with occasional travel across the UK, you'll lead the delivery of building physics and environmental performance consultancy. Acting as a key technical advisor, you'll work closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary teams to influence design outcomes and achieve energy, carbon, comfort and sustainability targets.
- Lead building physics analysis and dynamic simulation modelling using IES-VE
- Oversee operational energy modelling, thermal comfort, overheating, daylight and sustainability assessments
- Lead compliance modelling, energy strategies and technical reporting
- Manage certification processes including SAP, SBEM, BREEAM and NABERS UK
- Act as technical advisor within multidisciplinary teams, influencing design decisions
- Manage project delivery and mentor junior team members
About You
- Proven experience in building physics or sustainability consultancy across a range of project types and design stages
- Strong technical expertise in dynamic thermal modelling, operational energy analysis, thermal comfort and daylight assessments
- Experience with commercial EPCs, compliance modelling and domestic energy assessment frameworks (e.g. OCDEA)
- Proficiency producing technical reports, energy strategies, and supporting BREEAM, SAP, SBEM and NABERS UK processes
- Degree qualified (BSc/MSc) in Building Physics, Engineering, Sustainable Design or similar
- Professional membership (e.g. CIBSE or Energy Institute) and progress towards chartership desirable
- Relevant certifications such as CIBSE LCC, ESOS Lead Assessor, BREEAM Assessor/AP or NABERS UK Licensed Assessor are advantageous
